It started with a picturesque view
Open expansive and yet unknown
The breadth and depth of canyons
Unexplored eager adventures to unfold
The precipice I leaned towards
In excitement curiosity and wonder
As with every edge we sense danger
I kept trying to pull back
Yet ever so gently you tugged
My hand to lead me to grass
I stepped back and your hands raised
To your throat as my chest rose and fell trembling
Anxiously I leaned towards you
My heart was singing
You pulled me towards Moonlight
Laughing into your arms I need you
We then went down roughly
Kayaking into the deep waters
Painful honest realities I was scared to reveal
Yet you truly remain so kind and good
What a gift I have found … in you
